A requirement to replace our cooker and the need to replace an emergency exit door was the inspiration for a sponsored walk fundraiser.
Approximately 100 people made up from Young People in the Group along with parents and Leaders gathered on Sunday 17th September to tackle the steep climb up Cowpe Lowe with the destination being Waugh’s Well a monument created to commemorate local poet Edwin Waugh.
Passing the Cairns memorial stones on route everyone took in the wonderful landscape of the Rossendale Valley.
The return 7-mile hike to the Warren was completed in just under 4-hours and everyone was grateful of the refreshments on offer at the end.
The Group would like to thank all those that participated and everyone that donated towards the cause. A total of £2099 was raised.
