For the second year in a row Scouts from the 38th Rossendale made up of Members from Grey, Purple and Red Troops met in the early hours of the morning at Preston Railway station to catch a train to London!

The 15 Scouts were subdued during the journey but that soon changed when we arrived at London Euston.

The whistle-stop tour of our capital city started off with a visit to Buckingham Palace.  The Queen did not meet the Scouts but a very friendly Policeman did come to the gates for a chat.

Off then to the Science Museum where amongst other things the Scouts viewed an exhibition on space travel which included a life-size model of a Lunar Lander.

Another quick tube dash then to the London Eye to catch a Thames Cruise for a tour of the famous sites in the area including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Tower Bridge.

There was time then for a mooch around the Christmas Market.  The Churros proved popular with the Scouts.

A walk past 10 Downing Street followed before making their way to the Hamleys Toy Store.  A highlight for many of the Scouts.  With 10 minutes allocated to each floor this exercise took about 90-minutes.

Another tube ride took the Scouts to the O2 arena where they feasted on an all you could eat buffet with a variety of dishes to suit all tastes.

A final tube ride back to Euston railway station to catch a train arriving back in Preston for 11:15 pm rounded off the long, tiring but enjoyable day.

All the Scouts involved were a credit to the Group.  Well done to the Leaders for successfully navigating the Scouts around London during start of the busy Christmas shopping season.
