Ten Scouts recently embarked on their Expedition Challenge as part of their Chief Scout Gold Award.

They set off from Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary on a thankfully dry morning and worked their way towards Ashworth Valley Scout Campsite.

As they hiked along, they came across two people who required first aid.  Two volunteer Scout Leaders thankfully.  After applying their training to deal with the situation they set off to their next checkpoint.  The Scouts stopped for a welcome break and lunch at the checkpoint then carried on to camp.

Arriving at camp the Scouts started to erect their tents for the night then proceeded to make their dinner.  A nice warm dinner inside helped them to get settled down for the night.

After a cold night the Scouts were woken up at 7am, to start getting breakfast then pulling down their tents, then packing up their kit ready to set off to Nuttall Park.

The Scouts set off shortly after 9am on their route to the first checkpoint.  Here they stopped for lunch before walking down to Summerseat railway station.  The Scouts then jumped onto the Irwell Sculpture Trail to hike into Nuttall Park for around 3pm.

In all the Scouts walked almost 20-kilometres and stuck together as a team to achieve their aim.

Well done to all the Scouts for completing this achievement.
