A December evening just before Christmas was the time for a festive sleepover for some of the members of Purple Pack. Arriving at tea time, the Cubs set about preparing themselves a pizza supper by first mixing the ingredients to make the base – a messy but apparently enjoyable activity before making their choice of toppings and baking in the oven. The pizzas went down well as they were eaten around the campfire followed by marshmallows and Smores. A campfire sing-song followed before retreating inside for a games evening including Bingo and Twister. | ||
As well as achieving their Nights Away Staged Activity Badge, the Cubs also worked on their Air Activities Staged Activity Badge which included a presentation about Concorde and helicopters and watching a Young Leader flying a model helicopter and a Droan. Settling down for a quiet nights sleep proved a challenge for the girls and boys. It was hard to judge which tent was the noisiest. Following a bacon and sausage breakfast, the Cubs packed up their belongings before setting about making Rocky Road, decorating ginger bread Christmas trees and Christmas bags. The attempt at paper aeroplanes was less successful! A great time was had by all the members who went home tired but having had a thoroughly good time.
