Purple Pack’s planned outdoor winter camp was curtailed by horrendous weather with winds in the evening in excess of 50-miles per hour.

Instead, the Groups Event Shelters came to the rescue as two indoor “dormitories” for the girls and boys.

Saturday was spent with a variety of craft activities including making an Elf Christmas Tree Decoration with paracord, decorating a Gingerbread Biscuit, and making a Friendship Bracelet.

A Scavenger Hunt on the Warren, followed by some conservation in the form of picking up fallen leaves would see out most of the afternoon activities.

It had been intended that the Cubs would cook their own sausage, mash and vegetables using the Gas Cookers and although the cookers were used the weather conditions for the Cubs to do their own cooking was too bad.  They did however have to prepare the vegetables beforehand.

A Secret Santa, Disco and film would round off the day.

Little sleep was had overnight, with the Cubs going to sleep late and getting up early.

A full English breakfast was to proceed a wide game before the rain came again.

Some further craft activities and some games preceded Pizza for lunch before a final tidy up and time to go home.

The Leaders were grateful of the Cubs behaviour and look forward to the next camp some time next year.
