What a fantastic weekend our Purple Cub Pack had at Bowley Scout Campsite from Friday to Sunday!
We were thrilled to take 21 Cubs away for an unforgettable adventure — 8 girls and 13 boys — and we couldn’t be prouder of how brilliantly they all represented our Pack.
The boys had the special honour of being the very first group to trial Bowley’s brand-new ‘Bowley Burrows’ accommodation — a cosy, quirky new addition to the site, and a real treat for the campers!
Meanwhile, the girls enjoyed a fun stay in Bowley’s pre-pitched tents in ‘Little Bowley’.
Over the weekend, the Cubs took part in a range of exciting activities that challenged their bravery, teamwork, and determination.
They tackled the air rifle range, soared across the zip line, worked together in crate stacking, and scrambled through the gauntlet — all with boundless energy and enthusiasm.
We even squeezed in a hike down to Whalley where the Cubs enjoyed an ice lolly before making the climb back to camp.
On Saturday night, we gathered for a traditional campfire, where the Cubs sang songs and roasted marshmallows.
Later, we settled in for a cosy movie night, giving everyone a chance to wind down and enjoy some well-earned rest after a very sleepless night on Friday.
A huge thank you must go to our amazing team of leaders and volunteers, who gave up their weekend to make this experience possible.
From organising activities and keeping things running smoothly to cheering on the Cubs every step of the way — we couldn’t do it without you.
We’re so proud of each and every Cub who joined us on camp. Their behaviour, teamwork, and spirit were outstanding — and we’re already looking forward to the next adventure!
