| Four days of fun and adventure for 14 Cub Scouts, 17 Scouts and 2 Explorer Scouts were had when we travelled to the Acorn Adventures Campsite in Ardres, France. A 3:00 am start meant for a quiet journey to Dover. With minutes to spare we boarded the ferry to Calais and arrived at the campsite in time for lunch. A full programme of activities was undertaken during the week including, High Ropes, Crate Stacking, Rafting, Dragon Boat Racing, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding and Bush Craft. The evening activities included Acorn Olympics and Acorn’s Got Talent! A huge market in Ardres gave everyone the chance to spend some of their pocket money whilst one evening was spent walking to the local ice-cream shop for a well deserved treat. On leaving the site on our return journey we stopped at Cite’ Europe to buy gifts and souvenirs, before boarding the ferry back to England and return to Rossendale. Everyone had an excellent, very enjoyable but tiring week! | ||
