Grey Scout Troop descended onto Bowley international Scout campsite over the weekend of the 7th to the 9th June.
They arrived on the Friday evening and despite the bad weather they started to erect their own tents and shelters, then made some pastry twists over the campfire.
On Saturday the weather had cheered up thankfully, and the Scouts woke up to enjoy pastries and fruit for breakfast.
They were then placed into three groups for the shelters and were scored on teamwork, cleanliness and behaviour during the weekend.
After the flag break they headed to the activities of Crate Stacking and Air Rifle shooting.
Following this, they made their lunch, cleaned up, and then started a Scavenger Hunt to find the ingredients for their tea.
Following tea, they enjoyed some free time to play and make the most of the sun.
The weather had been glorious all day but as the sun disappeared for the night the temperature dropped and the Scouts got ready for bed with a hot chocolate around the campfire, then headed to their tents.
As they woke on Sunday, a few drops of rain started to fall. They had flag break after breakfast then started to pack the camp away. Unfortunately, the rain got heavier, and all the camping equipment got a good wash whilst being packed.
The Scouts were picked up around 11 am when the winning team from the weekend were awarded their prizes. And an outstanding Scout of the weekend was also awarded a prize.
Many thanks to all the Leaders for helping this weekend and we hope that everyone had fun.
