Twenty-one Members of Grey Pack Cubs descended on Bowley Scout campsite joined by members of Red Troop Scouts.

The Cubs enjoyed top notch accommodation in the Tipi Village and spent the first evening enjoying wide games with the Scouts before a supper of sausage rolls in the giant Tipi around the campfire.

Saturday morning saw the Cubs up at the crack of dawn for breakfast and flag break where they joined other Cubs, Beavers and Guides also on site.

They were led in activities by two Explorer Scouts who are attending the World Scout Jamboree this summer.

They tried their hand at fire lighting and pioneering skills erecting washing up stands, learnt all about basic first aid on camp before taking part in the more adventurous activities of the zipline and blind trail.

The Cubs cooked their own tea of burgers and sausages on their own campfires putting to use the fire lighting #SkillsForLife learnt earlier in the day, thankfully the first aid skills were not needed!

To round off Saturday the Cubs joined in the site campfire and thoroughly enjoyed singing along and joining in with the actions.

Sunday was a little more sedate after such an action-packed Saturday with the Cubs tidying their Tipis and packing up before a much-awaited trip to the shop!

The weekend came to an end with the cubs trying their hands at being the next Robin Hood!!

The Cubs all had a fabulous time, each received a personalised water bottle and by attending were able to tick off elements of the Outdoors, Nights Away, Adventure, Emergency Aid, Skills and World badges.

Huge thanks go to the Leaders who gave up their weekend to attend and the many hours put into planning beforehand- without them Section nights and events like this one simply would not be possible.

We look forward to doing it again soon!!
