We were delighted to organise a trip to The Astronomy Centre, between Bacup and Todmorden for Grey Pack Cubs.
Working on their Astronomer Activity Badge, the team who run and maintain the telescopes gave our Cubs a wonderfully interactive evening learning all about our night sky, from constellations, to the planets and stars, distant galaxies, plasma gas and super novas.
Most importantly, all our Cubs learnt some practical skills using the stars, being able to identify Polaris, and use it as a navigation tool to guide us.
We are so lucky to have such a wonderful resource on our doorstep with really passionate and knowledgeable people to share their years of knowledge with us.
Thank you to all those involved.
