The quiet of the Rossendale countryside was disturbed when our Beaver Colony took to the hills of Rossendale to walk to the Haslingden Halo.
Located above the town, the Halo is an 18-metre diameter steel lattice structure supported on a tripod 5-metres off the ground.
It is one of four Panopticans (structures providing a comprehensive view) in the East Lancashire area.
Having run off some energy in the area around the Halo, the Beavers continued their walk past the Rossendale Ski Slope and into Whittaker Park, Rawtenstall where their efforts were rewarded with a bag of chips.
It was a great way to finish our programme before the summer break. All the Beavers who took part will be awarded their “Hikes Away” staged activity badge. |
