What a difference a year makes!
The pictures above show our AGM in 2019 and 2020.
Normally a big event in our Scouting year, our Warren building would be full to capacity as we cover the formal process required as a registered charity.
Presentations by each of our seven Sections would follow as they tell us all about their Scouting adventures over the previous 12-months and then we move onto the Awards.
Chief Scout Awards would proceed the announcement of our Scouters of the Year for each Section and then one of those would go on to receive the “Jean Smith Award” for the outstanding Scouter of the year in memory of our former Group President.
Our afternoon would be rounded off with a barbeque for all those present.
Alas, none of that would be happening this year, but we look forward to 2021 when we hope life will have returned to normal and we can hold the event in the traditional form.
So, what about this year?
The event was held by Zoom and the Group is grateful to those Leaders and Parents who joined us to see the Executive officials appointed for the next 12-months.
Following the formal part of the meeting, a short inspirational video featuring Scout Ambassadors and activities from the Group over the past 12-months was shown. The video can be viewed here.
