King Georges Hall in Blackburn was recently a buzz of Scouting Activity. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts gathered from across East Lancashire to take part in the County Awards Ceremony. The Young People were being honoured for achieving their Chief Scout Awards. The highest award a member can gain in their respective Sections. The ceremony was preceded by a buffet for the award recipients and their families. We were pleased that a number of Beaver and Cub Scouts from the 38th Rossendale attended the event. They made their families and the Group proud. Special certificates were presented by the County Commissioner Glen Fendall and following the presentations there was an interesting question and answer session with Paralympic swimmer Tom Hamer. Many of the members enjoyed meeting him after the event to view his medals. Congratulations to them all. For more photos from the evening, view our Facebook Album. |
