Both Beaver Colonies have been working on the final part of their Skills Challenge Badge and needed to visit somewhere new and find out some interesting facts.
With thanks to The Worshipful Mayor and Mayoress of Rossendale, Councillor Andrew Walmsley and Ms Pat Smith, the Beavers were able to visit the Council Chambers. Here they learnt about the role of the Mayor and how he became appointed.
Many of the Beavers were part of their School Councils and had been elected in a similar way.
It was then time to visit the Polling Station and vote for their favourite Game Activity and Camp Activity from a choice of three.
Once they had made their vote, they were posted into the Ballot Box and the votes were then counted and the results revealed.
The evening was rounded off with a look at the Mayoral Robes and Chains.
Thank you to the Mayoral party including the mini-Mayor for a very interesting evening.
