The start of a new era for the 38th occurred at our AGM on the 22nd November 2010.  Louise Cooper took over the role of Group Scout Leader from Jean Smith who has held the role for the last 13-years.  Jean’s father Frank Hartley was joint founder of the Group nearly 60-years ago.

Louise has been an Assistant Beaver Scout Leader at the Group for 24-years spending some of that time as County Commissioner for East Lancashire Scout County.

In attendance was the Major of Rossendale and Scout District Commissioner who also witnessed presentations by the Beaver and Cub Sections as well as two Chief Scout Gold presentations.

The chairman of the Friends of the 38th presented the Group with a cheque for £2000 from their fundraising efforts from the year.
