Our Scouts teamed up with Civic Pride Rossendale to help clean up the area around Bocholt Way, Rawtenstall.

Civic Pride is a voluntary organisation formed in 2000. They spend their time clearing litter, tidying grot-spots, planting and maintaining gardens around the Rossendale Valley.

Every year they remove tonnes of litter.  Their aim is to keep the Valley looking as clean and green as they can.

Their work has benefited all who live and work in Rawtenstall.

An incredible amount of waste was found in the 2-hour session.  A part from discarded cans and general rubbish they found a car tyre and a mattress off a bed!

The Scouts work will go towards their Community Challenge badge and was rewarded by lunch courtesy of Tesco, Rawtenstall.
