Well, done to the Scouts from the 38th Rossendale who won the Rossendale District BP Trophy Competition for the second year running.
The event that took place at the Bowley Scout Campsite on Saturday 12th July and saw them competing against three other Groups.
The team of six consisted of two Scouts from Grey Troop, one from Purple Troop and three from Red Troop. They quickly got to know each other and worked well together.
They were presented with seven varying challenges.
Their first challenge was the soft archery.
This was followed by a First Aid Challenge with a casualty with multiple symptoms. The Scouts had to work out the best course of treatment. The scored 9 out of 10 but forgot to call the ambulance.
Putting up a tent was next. They were marked not only on completion of the task but how well they worked as a team.
Moving on to the Kelly Kettles. They had to light a fire before they could boil the water for a brew.
After lunch they were give a climbing rope and asked to use it to make a stretcher. They completed the task well.
Building a track with tubes and trophing to transport a marble as quick as possible into a bucket was to follow.
Their final challenge was pioneering. Building a camp chair. Both chairs were completed just within the allotted time.
