Purple Colony Beavers have been working on their My World Challenge Badge and recently made a visit to Rawtenstall Fire Station to meet someone who serves their community.

The Beavers were taught what to do if there was a fire at home and then were given a tour of the fire engine and all of its equipment.

The evening was interrupted when the station crew were called to a fire only to return 20-minutes later after it was discovered a smoke alarm had gone off in a nursing home but there was no fire. Luckily one firefighter stayed with the Group whilst the rest went to investigate.

Each Beaver was given a chance to sit in the fire engine and the evening was rounded off with the investiture of four new Beaver Scouts and a chance for every Beaver, Young Leader and Leader to have a go with the fire hose!

Thank you to the crew in charge for a fabulous evening.
