Hebden Hey Cub Camp
10 Jul 2010 | Cub Scouts
|A fun packed weekend was had by all when 25 Cubs went to the Hebden Hey Scout Camp Site, near Hebden Bridge. The weekend started on the Friday night when after unpacking the children explored the area. A supper of pizza was followed by games before settling down for the evening.
|Three bases of tracking, den building and putting up a tent were completed on Saturday morning before cooling off in Hebden Water and a picnic lunch. A walk and visit to Gibson Mill followed. Here there was the opportunity to dress in period costume followed by ice creams or cake before returning to the camp site. A campfire and then a film on the Saturday night ended a busy day.
|The Sunday started with a Scouts Own Service, where the children were asked to think about a good thing about themselves and one of their friends. This was followed by an “animal safari”, craft work, baking and archery. A full Sunday lunch was eaten before final packing and return home.
