23 Scouts, 1 Young Leader and 3 Leaders from Grey Troop braved the cold February weather and went to visit the Observatory in Todmorden.

At the Astronomy Centre, the Scouts learned about constellations, nebulas, stars, planets and galaxies amongst other things.  The scouts also learned how to make a device for splitting light into its different colours using a cereal packet, foil and an old DVD.

Andy and Peter from the observatory were impressed by the knowledge that the scouts had.

At the end of the evening, the Scouts had the chance to make the most of a clear (if cold) night to look through the telescope at the night sky.
