A party of 31 made up of Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts accompanied by parents joined Leaders for the weekend.
Following a social gathering on the Friday evening all were given the opportunity to roast marshmallows on the open fire. Something that everyone enjoyed.
The Saturday morning started with a full English breakfast and flag break before everyone was split into three groups for the day’s activities that consisted of Crate Stacking, Archery, Rafting, Three Man Catapult and the Blind Trail. There was also a bush craft drop-in session for anyone with free time.
A full roast dinner proceeded the traditional campfire with Members and parents in fine voice. A game of Bingo and some quizzes rounded off what had been a busy day.
Sunday was much more laid back with breakfast and the flag break undertaken before settling into the Bowley chapel for a Scouts Own service.
It was then time to clean up and pack up before the weekend was rounded off with a review of the “best bits” and “it would have been better if” questioning of the families before the adults were presented with their Nights Away certificates.
It is the intention of the Group to run another Family Camp during the Spring Bank holiday weekend at the end of May 2019.
