Although not quite the sound of leather on willow followed by cucumber sandwiches on a Summer’s Day, Cub teams still assembled for the annual District Cricket competition.

Featuring teams from both Grey and Purple packs, the competition started with everyone playing each other before Purple pack were selected to play 43rd Rossendale as the two highest scoring teams.

Following a short break (which saw Rama and Baloo from Purple pack demonstrating their cricket skills) the finalists assembled to do battle.  Using the same format of every player bowling and batting for one over during the innings, eventually Purple pack reigned supreme.

A fantastic day was had by all and a huge thanks to all the Leaders who demonstrated scoring and umpiring of the highest quality.
