30 years ago, the 38th Rossendale formed a Beaver Colony as part of an experimental Section for the Scout Association.  The Section was a success and has continued to go from strength to strength.  The 38th now has two Beaver Colonies and a constant demand for places.

We wanted to celebrate the occasion with a special event, so Beaver Scout Leader of 30 years “Eagle” came up with the idea of a sleepover at Blackpool Tower.  The event was six months in the making.

The day dawned with 34 eager Beavers boarding the coach to Blackpool.  The first activity was Jungle Jim’s followed by the Circus Performance with “Eagle” taking part in a “Hollywood Movie”.

A behind the scenes tour of the Circus followed tea before an evening of activities.

Sunday morning saw the Beavers visit the 4D Experience before ascending the Tower.  The views over Blackpool were enjoyed by all and some even braved the glass floor!

After visiting the souvenir shop the Beavers danced to the Hokey Cokey in the world famous Ballroom before lunch and home.

The Beavers were impeccably behaved and all had a fantastic time in this once in a life-time experience.
