| 46 members of the 38th Rossendale were joined by 14 members of the 5th Rossendale for an exciting week of adventure in northern France. Based at the Acorn Adventure village near to the town of Ardres the week started with two coaches leaving the Valley at 1:30 in the morning on Saturday 16th August arriving at the campsite by lunchtime the same day. The week saw the youngsters given chance to take part in a variety of activities including archery, fencing, climbing, high-ropes, canoeing, paddle-boarding and rafting. For many the highlight of the week was a day at Disneyland Paris where everyone made the most of the rides on offer and enjoyed the daytime parade and night time fireworks show. No trip to this camp site would be complete without the visit to the local ice cream shop and the Thursday market.
