On Saturday 27th April, 12 Cub Scouts from Purple and Grey Pack took part in the Akela Trophy competition. This is a District competition in which teams of 6 take part in several challenges and tasks in a bid to win the most points.
A total of 6 teams from 7 Groups competed from across the District and the Cubs took part in challenges such as fire lighting, soft archery, tracking, tent pitching, map reading, first aid and pioneering.
The competition was fierce but 38th Cubs were a force to be reckoned with and their teamwork and skills were unmatched! The results came in at the end of the 5-hour day and we were ecstatic that 38th Grey Pack were awarded second place and 38th Purple Pack won in first place!
We couldn’t have asked for a better result to have our two teams in the top spots. They were brilliant all day and made 38th very proud. Well, done Cubs!
