Should Rossendale ever have a major fire, then have no fear.  28 Beavers from Purple Colony are all trained to cope with anything following on from their visit to Rawtenstall Fire Station.

A discussion was held on the equipment carried to an emergency which raised many questions from the Beavers.  All were given the opportunity to sit in the fire engine and imagine what it would be like to be involved in a real incident.

The vehicle was then driven outside with one lucky Beaver who was celebrating her eighth birthday as the front seat passenger.

The highlight of the evening was the opportunity to use the powerful hose which resulted in most of the Beavers returning home wet!  Not that this seemed to bother any of them.

The visit will form part of the Beavers Explore Activity Badge.
