Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorer Scouts
A good turnout of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts attended the annual Rossendale District St. Georges Day Parade on Sunday 26th April 2009. The parade was followed by a church service to remember our Patron Saint and our founder Robert Baden-Powell. The highlight of the service was a performance by the Reach Puppet show.

Meet at the Car Park opposite Rawtenstall Market, collect from Longholme Methodist. Full uniform to be worn, no trainers.
Members of the 38th Rossendale Cub Packs took part in the District Akela Trophy. Seven packs from Rossendale took part in various challenges. Teams of six (at least 3 of whom have to be under nine and a half) from each pack had to show their skill at the various bases: – fire lighting, erecting a tent, compass and map reading, basic first aid, pioneering, ingenuity and a fun base. The cubs had a challenging but enjoyable day and purple pack rounded off the day with a McDonalds meal at the Warren.
